Speaking up for the Care Sector

Calling for a “step change in how society understands the care that older people need” Pelham House owner and director, Roger Waluube, has undertaken a series of interviews with both the BBC and ITV, to highlight the serious challenges adult social care services face post pandemic.

More than 1400 care home residents in Kent and Medway died from Coronavirus between April 2020 and March of this year according to figures released in a report by the Care Quality Commission.

Responding to the report and describing the scale and severity of what happened in care homes as a “humanitarian disaster” Roger is determined to expose the urgent need to improve the system for the most vulnerable in our society.

In a series of interviews on BBC South East, ITV Meridian and BBC Radio Kent, he has been tackling the big issues surrounding the future of social care and how, going forward, he hopes to see real change.
