Considering moving into a care home is a daunting step which most elderly people will resist as long as they can. They fear losing their independence, identity, freedom and dignity.
The thing is, the comment we get most often once someone has actually moved in is "I wish we'd done it much sooner". That's because life in a good care home is actually great fun. There are things to do, people to talk to, entertainment, and a general buzz you just don't get at home on your own.
Using our Day Care Service is a great, low key way for your loved one to experience what life in the home is really like without the commitment of moving in.
Plus it's a really good way to take the pressure off you for a day if you're caring for them at home. Wouldn't it be great to have just a little time to yourself where you can do exactly what you want without worrying?

With our extensive range of activities and comfortable environment Pelham House feels very much like a social club and community for the elderly rather than a care home.
The atmosphere is friendly and active, warm and welcoming, relaxing and caring. So your loved one can come and stay with us for the day, feel free to be themselves and join in activities such as painting, drawing, gardening, or just having a good natter with new found friends.
If they like pampering (and who doesn't!) they can come for a hairdressing, massage or aromatherapy session, or a good soak in a lovely hot bath! Just tell us what they like and we'll do our best to provide it for you.
