It is with absolute delight that we have just found out that our very own Janet Deveson has been chosen as one of Kent’s 12 Unsung Heroes!
Janet plays a key role here at the Home and over the past few years has become an essential cog in the smooth running machinery of Pelham House Care Home.
She provides a standard of administrative service to match and exceed the very best in the area. The protocols she has introduced have benefitted staff, families and residents alike, and have played a crucial part in the Home’s evaluation as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission.
But her dedication goes well beyond the requirements of her admin role.
Using her previous experience as a carer she can always be relied upon to turn her hand to whatever needs doing to improve the quality of care we provide. From running down to the pharmacy to get a resident’s prescription, to voluntarily covering night shifts or accompanying residents to hospital, nothing is too much trouble for her. Janet is someone all of us here at Pelham House rely on.
We were delighted to be able to nominate Janet for this award, and are truly thrilled the judges have recognised her special talents.We’re now very much looking forward to the red carpet Awards Ceremony at the beautiful Squerreys Vineyard in Westerham on 25th September when Janet will receive her Unsung Hero award.
